Transfer to Digital is ready to bring your image collection into the 21st century.
Slides were the go-to storage medium for photos in the 50’s and 60’s, but now few people have functioning projectors to view them on. Hard copy photos overtook slides in the 80s, often being collected and displayed in family photo albums, but suffer fading and discolouration over the decades since they were printed.
Many images never made it off of the negatives they were captured on, unseen since the day they were captured.
In recent times, with the world connected via the internet, it’s great to have your precious images in a digital format so that you can easily share them with family and friends.
We have a variety of scanners capable of transferring your photos, slides, and negatives to easily shareable digital files, often improving their quality by correcting color shifts and fading that occurs over time, and also protecting them from further deterioration.
Please note the following if you are bringing in your collection for digital transfer to us:
1) Photos must be provided out of albums and organized in the order that you want them scanned. Photos should be on a flexible material, or will require a more expensive flat-bed scan.
2) Providing slides in Kodak carousels and oriented as desired, will save you 20% as this will require less handling on our part.
3) Please clean your slides before bringing them in. Blow off dust first with compressed air and then use a micro-fibre cloth to wipe them down. Clean slides are important for the best possible capture.
